The Red Cross has many opportunities for volunteers to share their talents. If you have some time to spare and a desire to help people, consider becoming a volunteer. For more information on the many ways you can help, call the Chapter office at (609)267-9595 ext. 109 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. We currently have a need for volunteers in these areas: Exhibit volunteers: Responsibilities include preparing materials for the exhibits at health fairs and community days, transporting them to the site, and being available at the site to answer questions or give short demonstrations. Free training is provided. Most events are held on weekends, but some week-day events are possible. If you enjoy attending events and talking to people, this job is for you! Volunteer Coordinator: Do you like working with people? We have an urgent need for a dedicated volunteer to coordinate volunteer intake and activities for Burlington County Chapter. Responsibilities include recruiting new volunteers, placing them in jobs appropriate to their talents, keeping track of time worked, maintaining records, and planning/assisting with volunteer recognition events. This is the perfect position for an organized person who works well with people of all ages. Free training is provided. Blood Services Volunteers: At the moment, we have a need for volunteers in Moorestown, Mt Laurel and Willingboro to help with registration and refreshments at blood drives. Blood Aides usually work one or two drives per month. Drives average 6 hours in length.Free training is offered. Disaster Action Team: If you want to help people in times of emergency, you might consider becoming part of our Disaster Action Team. DAT members are needed locally to respond when people are impacted by local disaster, such as house fires and floods. Free training is offered locally. DAT members with additional training may also be deployed to assist with regional or national disasters. At the moment, we do not have any volunteer opportunities for youth volunteers, but check back because that may change in the future.
