OSHA estimates that 15% of workplace fatalities -more than 400 per year- are caused by sudden cardiac arrest. Approximately 40% of those victims could have been saved by defibrillation within a few minutes.

According to a survey by the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine: The use of defibrillators is dramatically increasing and effective. Concluding that companies with an AED program experienced a 66% favorable response rate. In severe situations when an AED was used, an unconscious victim returned to consciousness and made it to the ambulance alive.
